Berry Easy: Test for Brettanomyces on grapes
Introduction:
This formulation is based on work published by Renouf and Lonvaud-Funal in the Journal Microbiological Research (2007) entitled “ Development of an Enrichment medium to detect Dekkera/Brettanomyces bruxellensis, a spoilage wine yeast, on the surface of grape berries”. In this publication, the EBB medium formulation and validation are described.
Instructions for use:
Enrichment
1. Add grapes (up to 25) to the EBB Medium within large mouth 125 ml bottle and cap.
2. Incubate 5-10 days. Incubation at 30C and with agitation will increase growth rate.
3. After enrichment, conduct Brettanomyces test
